thirteenth, the rising sun
rests on the point
of the island cone.
The red of the globe,
the green of the angle
complement the other,
while circle and point
touch once a year.

About the Author

Marion Jones lives and writes poetry in Brighton, Dunedin. She wrote her first poem on her third child's first birthday.
