Peter Bland emigrated to New Zealand in 1954. He has published widely as a poet and is well known as a broadcaster, actor and co-founder of Wellington’s Downstage Theatre. Since the 1970s he has divided his time between New Zealand and the UK.
Peter met his wife Beryl in Wellington, and they were married for 55 years. She died in 2009. This moving sequence of poems, written in the year following her death, is poetry of memorable intimacy.
