Pat Neuwelt is a Canadian-born New Zealander, qualified general practitioner and, more recently, public health physician. She has worked as a GP in both private and not-for-profit settings in New Zealand, as well as in palliative care. She is currently a senior lecturer in public health at the School of Population Health, University of Auckland. Her professional interests include the application of a health promotion approach to the delivery of health care and health development for vulnerable groups through primary health care.
Pat lives in Auckland with her husband Robin Kearns and their two children, Liam and Caitlin. She is an active member of a number of different ‘communities’, including her local neighbourhood, school communities, a church community and some national organisations.
